So how do you say your name?

'Jav' is pronounced 'halve' as in to cut in two. 'J' in spanish makes an 'h' sound you see. Jav is a shortened form of Javier. 'Jarquin' is pronounced 'Har-keen'. I'm not making this up to seem more exotic.

Your english is good, yes?
English is my first language. I also speak spanish.

So where are you from exactly?
Take a guess! I've been mistaken for a lot of nationalities. Ask me personally.

What do you do?
I'm a full time actor, comedian, MC, improviser, magician, tutor, instructor and all round entertainer. I've also done work writing, directing, choreographing and worked in television, film and radio. Just don't ask me to build anything. I'm a terrible handyman.

I've got this idea for an event but not sure about how to work it...

Talk to me, I can help you flesh out an entertainment plan for an entire event off whatever concept you have. If you already have a strong idea I can help you polish it up and work through the details.

I'd like some entertainment but nothing too over the top or overwhelming
After something more subtle or intimate? I can do that too, sometimes less is more.

Why should I hire you?
Big events or small, I've performed to hundreds of people hundreds of times. I've done family shows through to late night shows and everything in between. I'm not a part-timer, this is what I do.

I'm looking for a wacky guy in a loud suit and animal print tie
Please leave.

Can Christchurch and Comedy peacefully co-exist?
I certainly believe so. I've resisted the pull to go up north to work on establishing a strong comedy scene down here. Christchurch is a great venue for comedy. Some people just don't know it yet.
