Jav appeared on the Christchurch comedy scene in 2000 and has been entertaining audiences around the country with his 'brutally honest' performance style ever since.

A regular of New Zealand's longest running comedy show Scared Scriptless he has showcased his talents to literally thousands of people in his time and has been selected to perform for the Prime Minister of New Zealand. There's also spot prizes for those who can guess his ethnicity.

Jav has performed in comedy clubs around the country, on television, @Seven, the New Zealand International comedy fest and Australia. In Christchurch he won the 2007 "So you think you're funny" competition and performs regularly as an MC and/or headline act and has opened for Pauly Shore.

Jav shares his quick-thinking, fast-talking attitude with his audience in a way described as "slick, professional and completely approachable". Being a professional improviser, we're never sure if he's making it up as he goes along - neither is he.

"Fresh, funny and unique."

- The Press

"A confident and charismatic performer with a calm and natural stage presence Jarquin's routine flows from observation to anecdote informed by a palpable understanding of where his audience sits in relation to his material.  He assumes voices and characters with ease, his jokes are distinct entities that segue smoothly into one another; his set is tight, cohesive and extremely well executed."
